From June 5 to 7, 2026, the 24th Sax­ony-Anhalt Day will take place for the sec­ond time in Bern­burg (Saale) under the mot­to “Where Sax­ony-Anhalt meets”. Over three days, the fed­er­al state will be show­cased in all its facets in the city on the Saale: from cul­ture and his­to­ry to sport, vol­un­teer­ing and region­al cui­sine.  More than 11 themed streets with their own pro­gram points and attrac­tions invite you to dis­cov­er them this week­end. The dis­tricts and inde­pen­dent cities also present them­selves in five sep­a­rate region­al vil­lages: Elbe-Börde-Hei­de, Anhalt-Wit­ten­berg-Bit­ter­feld, Harz-Harzvor­­land, Halle-Saale-Unstrut…

The trav­el­ing stamp box reached its first sta­tion of the 2026/27 sea­son on 16.04.26. Han­na and Luke from the Brock­en­bande explain how a dam can sup­ply peo­ple with drink­ing water and pro­tect them from flood­ing on the new “Water” cli­mate trail. This leads you on a cir­cu­lar hik­ing trail around the basin of the pre-dam past five excit­ing infor­ma­tion points. The start­ing point for the nature trail is the Söse­talsperre park­ing lot at the dam, which is locat­ed in the direc­tion of the Riefen­s­beek-Kam­schlack­­en dis­trict of Osterode. On Sun­day, April 26, 2026, the start of a very spe­cial hik­ing sea­son will be cel­e­brat­ed around Plessen­burg Cas­tle in the Harz Moun­tains — because this year we are cel­e­brat­ing our 20th anniver­sary. From 11:00 a.m., a var­ied musi­cal stage pro­gram awaits you in the midst of the idyl­lic Harz land­scape with numer­ous stands from our long-stand­ing part­ners. The wan­der­ing stamp box reached its last stop of the 2025/26 sea­son on 16.02.26. The up-and-com­ing Hohn­stein dynasty built the old cas­tle in Herin­gen in 1320.It is one of the ear­li­est cas­tle build­ings.Its five storeys make it the tallest sec­u­lar build­ing of its time in Thuringia.
