Station 4: Oct. 16–Dec. 15, 2026, Pferdebahn, Riestedt

Mining Meets the Peasants’ War: As early as the Middle Ages, raw materials such as iron and coal were mined and processed in the region. After these raw materials were first mined by peasants and later on an industrial scale, this helped bring economic prosperity to the region.

Between Riestedt and Emseloh, you can find the architectural remains of the Kaltenborn Monastery as well as the industrial monument of the horse-drawn tram, which was used to transport the mined coal to the loading area.
