Stamping point 26 / Mönchsbuche

The Mönchsbuche is located above the Steinerne Renne, approx. 2 km from the inn of the same name.

From the mid­dle of the 13th cen­tu­ry, the Mönchsstieg, a link between the Him­melp­forte and Ilsen­burg monas­ter­ies, ran along this route. The monks rest­ed here when they vis­it­ed each oth­er. It is also known that there has always been a beech tree here. 

The Mönchs­buche can be reached from the park­ing lot at Stein­erne Renne sta­tion via Biel­stein­chaussee and Bürg­er­brun­nen approx. 2.6 km. You can con­tin­ue the tour to the Stein­erne Renne inn HWN 28.

The stamp box is locat­ed at the rest area oppo­site the beech tree.
