From here, you can see through a narrow clearing toward Schierke and the Brocken. From the campground in Schierke, take a small path to the right that passes the “Brockenblick” hotel, then turn left and head up to the Helenenruh lookout point, where the stamp box is located.

The square owes its name to the Magdeburg entrepreneur Hermann Gruson (1821–1895), who had it laid out as a resting place for his wife Helene and had the view of Schierke and the Brocken cleared—a tradition that lives on to this day in the form of the narrow viewing corridor.
