Stamp point 71 / Rosstrappe (Schurre junction)

The Rosstrappe (403 m above sea level) is located above the Bode Valley and opposite the Hexentanzplatz.

The name of the Roßtrappe above the Bodetal valley can be traced back to the king’s daughter Brunhilde. She once saved herself from her kidnapper, the robber baron Bodo, by jumping on her horse. Her horse jumped from the Hexentanzplatz to the Roßtrappe and left a huge hoofprint in the rock.

On the Roßtrappe there are several outstanding viewpoints down into the Bode Valley and across to the Hexentanzplatz. You can also take the chairlift up to the Roßtrappe from the Bode Valley.

The stamping point is located next to the information board of the Harz Regional Association at the junction to the Schurre.
