Stamping point 220 / Phillippsgruß refuge

The “Phillippsgruß” pavilion is located northwest of Bad Sachsa on the Katzenstein near the Ravensberg (660 m above sea level).

A regular guest of the climatic health resort had the pavilion built on this site as he particularly appreciated the view from this spot, which extends far beyond Bad Sachsa to the Kyffhäuser.

Below the Phillippsgruß is the oldest fairytale park in Germany, which was built back in 1910. Even today, the park deliberately dispenses with plastic figures and voice machines and uses natural materials to recreate various fairytale scenes.

The “Harzfalkenhof Bad Sachsa”, founded in 1964, is located very close to the Märchengrund. Since then, the Harzfalkenhof has been involved in bird of prey conservation, breeding and research. It is home to around 80 birds of prey, e.g. eagles, vultures, falcons, owls and other species. The flight demonstrations of falcons, eagles and other birds of prey are unique, but the breeding success of the birds, which are kept in pairs in animal-friendly aviaries, is also impressive

The quickest access to the Phillippsgruß is from Bad Sachsa via the Vitalpark and the Ede-Baller-Weg. A charming hiking trail leads directly from the summit of the Ravensberg via the Käthe Schulken Hut and the Ede Baller Trail to the Phillippsgruß.
