The bison enclosure is located in the 300-hectare wildlife park, which belongs to the Nordmann riding and sports hotel in Stangerode.

In addition to natural cattle breeds such as Highlander, Galloway, steppe cattle and bison, you can also marvel at the elemental force of Germany’s largest bison herd.
The European bison is on the red list of endangered species. The Nordmann Wildlife Park is working on a project to prepare the reintroduction of the animals under scientific supervision.
The wildlife park is also home to native game species such as red deer, fallow deer, wild boar and mouflon. Those who prefer something more exotic will also find ostriches and camels.
The animals are kept in spacious enclosures all year round. This means that the animals can be observed almost as if they were in the wild, but at the same time have the necessary opportunities to retreat.
The starting point for a hike through the wildlife park is the parking lot directly in front of the hotel. The stamping point is located at the signposted wildlife park viewpoint above the bison enclosure.
