Stamp point 20 / Barenberg (viewpoint)

The Barenberg viewpoint (696 m above sea level) is 150 meters above the Elend Valley and offers a beautiful view over Schierke, the Erdbeerkopf and the Hohnekamm with its cliffs.

The short­est access path starts on the out­skirts of Elend and leads steeply up to a view­point from which you can over­look the Elend­stal val­ley. From the view­point, the trail con­tin­ues to the sum­mit of the Baren­berg. We rec­om­mend descend­ing via the Schnar­cherk­lip­pen HWN 14 and hik­ing back through the Elend­stal valley. 

The path between Baren­berg and Schnar­cherk­lip­pen is dif­fi­cult to walk on due to storm dam­age. The orig­i­nal path is no longer rec­og­niz­able over a length of approx. 200 m.
