Stamp point 13 / Ahrensklint

The Ahrentsklint (822 m above sea level) is located above Schierke on the Glashüttenweg.

From the cliff, you have an impressive panoramic view of the Brocken, the Wurmberg, the Leistenklippen and Oberschierke.

Under the name “Arneklint” (eagle rock), the Ahrentsklint was the oldest name for a forestry site in the Schierk region. Before 1411, it belonged to the Wernigerode community.

On 28.01.1411, the Count of Stolberg Wernigerode acquired it to expand his forest and hunting grounds. From then on, the Ahrenstklint belonged to the count’s forest and became the venue for representative society hunts of the feudal Harz counts.

Schierke or Drei Annen Hohne are suitable starting points for a hike to Ahrensklint via Trudenstein HWN 17.
