The “Kruzifix” (595 m above sea level) is an iron cross at a crossroads between Ilsenburg and the Eckertalsperre dam.
The original cross, which was first mentioned in the 17th century, was destroyed when the inner-German border was built. After German reunification, the current cross was erected in the same place.
This stamp point can be reached from Ilsenburg through the Ilsetal and the Große Sandtal. On the way back to Ilsenburg, it is a good idea to hike via the Scharfenstein HWN 2.
