Stamping point 190 / Bergrat-Müller-Teich

The Bergrat Müller pond is located northwest of Friedrichsbrunn in the immediate vicinity of the Merkelbach vacation park.

The Bergrat Müller pond was created by Bergrat Müller between 1737 and 1738 for mining purposes, after the nearby Erichsburg pond had already been completed in 1709. The pond’s dammed water was used to drive the water wheels, which drained the Fürst Karl Wilhelm mine via a pumping system. In the 18th century, around 12,000 tons of copper pyrite were mined annually in this mine, from which around 25 tons of copper could be extracted.

From the Merkelbach vacation park you reach the stamping point after a short hike and can continue to the Große Teufelsmühle HWN 189 or via the Bärweg to the Bärendenkmal HWN 184 and the Bremer Teich HWN 196.
