Forest hut with stream and wooden bridge in the countryside

Stamping point 133 / Förster — Ludewig — Platz

The Förster-Ludewig-Platz is a very nice resting place and is located on the Dammgraben between Altenau and the Torfhaus.

The rest area has been attractively designed with a seating area and the Schachtkopf hut. Crossing a sedimentation basin of the dam ditch, which frees the wild water coming from the Nabental waterfall from its sediment flood, you reach another small rest area via a footbridge.

There, the head forester Pittau erected a memorial to the forest workers who died in the First World War and to the forester Meyer. The stamp box is also located on this small peninsula, which invites you to listen to the gurgling water for a moment and come to your senses.

The shortest access route starts at the small parking lot on the right-hand side of the road from Torfhaus to Altenau. From there, follow the path along the romantic, fern-covered dam ditch to the stamping point. Above the Förster-Ludewig-Platz, the Harz Witches’ Trail leads via the Nabentaler waterfall and the ski meadow on the Rinderkopf to the Torfhaus.

The stamping point on this section of the Dammgraben is particularly suitable for families with small children, but also for senior citizens with physical disabilities.
