Donations handed over for reforestation in the Harz Mountains

ARTUS donates on the occa­sion of the com­pa­ny’s 10th anniversary

In view of the exten­sive tree dam­age caused by drought, storms and bark bee­tles in recent years, there has been a grow­ing com­mit­ment to dona­tions and tree plant­i­ng cam­paigns from pri­vate indi­vid­u­als and com­pa­nies. The web­site of the “Der Wald ruft” (“The for­est is call­ing”) ini­tia­tive helped with inquiries and sup­port opportunities. 

This is how ARTUS GmbH final­ly became aware of the for­est dona­tion project in the Harz dis­trict in the sum­mer of 2022. The first refor­esta­tion of an area near Plessen­burg Cas­tle near Ilsen­burg — financed via a crowd­fund­ing cam­paign — was real­ized short­ly before­hand as a joint action by the for­est cri­sis team of the Harz dis­trict, the Harz­er Wan­der­nadel and the Harz Tourism Association. 

ARTUS Gesellschaft für Brand- und Wasser­schaden­sanierung mbH, a sub­sidiary of the ARTUS Bautrock­nung- und Sanierungs­gruppe, is based in Isern­hagen and cel­e­brat­ed its 10th anniver­sary in the fall of 2022. To mark this spe­cial occa­sion, the founder and man­ag­ing direc­tor, Josef Bölle, a long-time lover of resin, called for dona­tions to be col­lect­ed for fur­ther refor­esta­tion projects of this kind. No soon­er said than done: the anniver­sary event raised a remark­able total of €3,500. This was cer­e­mo­ni­ous­ly hand­ed over today at the Plessen­burg for­est dona­tion site. The local for­est ranger, Lutz Böge, explained the prin­ci­ple of plant­i­ng on site to every­one involved. The dona­tion will be used to main­tain the area and enable replant­i­ng. If the funds are not used up, they will be used for the next for­est dona­tion projects in the Harz district. 

Josef Bölle com­ments: “My wife and I love the Harz For­est and have been vaca­tion­ing there for years to relax from the stress of every­day life and enjoy the won­der­ful nature. My wife, a forester’s daugh­ter, and I were very shocked to see how the for­est has changed in recent years. This fundrais­ing cam­paign is a mat­ter very close to our hearts.”
