Season opening 2026

On Sun­day, April 26, 2026, the start of a very spe­cial hik­ing sea­son will be cel­e­brat­ed around Plessen­burg Cas­tle in the Harz Moun­tains — because this year we are cel­e­brat­ing our 20th anniversary.

From 11:00 a.m., a var­ied musi­cal stage pro­gram awaits you in the midst of the idyl­lic Harz land­scape with numer­ous stands from our long-stand­ing partners.

The offi­cial open­ing of the hik­ing sea­son will then take place at 12:00 noon, when the exclu­sive anniver­sary prod­ucts will be pre­sent­ed for the first time.

You can look for­ward to a range of spe­cial new products:

- Harz gold coins — strict­ly lim­it­ed and avail­able with two unique motifs

- Anniver­sary book­let with 22 new and famil­iar stamp points — per­fect for any­one who wants to expand their col­lec­tion and help shape the hik­ing pass

- The chron­i­cle of the Harz­er Wan­der­nadel — an excit­ing look back at 20 years of hik­ing passion

- The book­let accom­pa­ny­ing the reser­voirs in the Harz Moun­tains — for new dis­cov­er­ies along impres­sive water landscapes

- The Gold­en Hik­ing Pass — lim­it­ed to 20,000 pieces and avail­able in two attrac­tive bundles

For guests with lim­it­ed mobil­i­ty, we have set up a shut­tle ser­vice from the Har­z­land­halle park­ing lot, Harzburg­er Straße 24A, 38871 Ilsen­burg from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
