The water wheels trans\u00admit\u00adted the pow\u00ader to the pump\u00ading sta\u00adtions of the Birn\u00adbaum shafts with rods up to 1&nbsp;km&nbsp;long.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>The light shafts in Hel\u00adler\u00adgrund and Birn\u00adbaum\u00adgrund were the ven\u00adti\u00adla\u00adtion shafts of the \u201cdeep tun\u00adnel\u201d through which the water was drained. The Birn\u00adbaum shafts were put into oper\u00ada\u00adtion in 1536 and only closed in&nbsp;1860.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>The Birn\u00adbaumte\u00adich, which was cre\u00adat\u00aded in the 17th cen\u00adtu\u00adry to sup\u00adply water, is a&nbsp;pop\u00adu\u00adlar bathing lake and has been giv\u00aden a&nbsp;rea\u00adson\u00adable infra\u00adstruc\u00adture by the oper\u00ada\u00adtor of the vaca\u00adtion park.
