This pond was intend\u00aded to facil\u00adi\u00adtate deer hunt\u00ading, which is why it was ini\u00adtial\u00adly giv\u00aden the name \u201cHirschte\u00adich\u201d (deer pond). The pond and stream were lat\u00ader renamed \u201cBre\u00admer Pond\u201d and \u201cBre\u00admer Ditch\u201d in mem\u00ado\u00adry of the builder.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>The Bre\u00admer Teich has been used for tourism since 1956 when a&nbsp;youth hos\u00adtel was built. Since then, the Bre\u00admer Teich has devel\u00adoped into a&nbsp;pop\u00adu\u00adlar local recre\u00adation area.<br>Since 1990, the Bre\u00admer Teich has devel\u00adoped into the inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal camp\u00adsite \u201cHarz-Camp\u201d with a&nbsp;capac\u00adi\u00adty of 160 campers, 15 rus\u00adti\u00adcal\u00adly fur\u00adnished vaca\u00adtion homes and a&nbsp;guard\u00aded 4\u2011hectare bathing area.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.harz-camp-gernrode.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Camp Bre\u00admer&nbsp;Teich<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>Access to the camp\u00adsite is from the for\u00admer Hafer\u00adfeld forester\u2019s lodge, which is locat\u00aded on the coun\u00adtry road between Gern\u00adrode and M\u00e4gde\u00adsprung.
