Dur\u00ading his stay, he appar\u00adent\u00adly took the oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty to go for a&nbsp;long walk on the sur\u00adround\u00ading hills with his friend Wil\u00adhelm Reif\u00adf\u00aden\u00adstein. To this day, the leg\u00adend lives on in Stol\u00adberg that Luther com\u00adpared the town to a&nbsp;bird from&nbsp;there.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>In the Stol\u00adberg Church and Town His\u00adto\u00adry by Johann Arnold Zeit\u00adfuchs, pub\u00adlished in 1717, the fol\u00adlow\u00ading entry has sur\u00advived: <em>\u201cWhen, on the<\/em> Fri\u00adday after East\u00ader <em>in<\/em> 1525 <em>,<\/em> Luther preached here \/ and went up the moun\u00adtain with Mr. Wil\u00adhelm Reif\u00adf\u00aden\u00adsteinen \/ the doc\u00adtor com\u00adpared the town to a&nbsp;bird <em>. 1525. on the Fri\u00adday after East\u00ader Luther preached here \/ and went up the moun\u00adtain with Mr. Wil\u00adhelm Reif\u00adf\u00aden\u00adsteinen \/ the doc\u00adtor com\u00adpared the town to a&nbsp;bird. The cur\u00adrent beech tree bears a&nbsp;wood\u00aden plaque on which the ref\u00ader\u00adence to Luther is explained.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>The spe\u00adcial charm of Stol\u00adberg lies in its closed his\u00adtor\u00adi\u00adcal town\u00adscape in half-tim\u00adbered style, the wind\u00ading alley\u00adways and the many sights. One of the leg\u00adendary lead\u00aders of the Peas\u00adants\u2019 War of 1524\u20131525, Thomas M\u00fcntzer, was born in Stol\u00adberg around 1489.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>From the mar\u00adket square, walk through the Saiger\u00adturm\u00adtor gate and fol\u00adlow Stuben\u00adgasse to the \u201cBandwege\u201d.
