At the end of the 1960s, the VEB Natursteinkom\u00adbi\u00adnat Halle-Sen\u00adnewitz relo\u00adcat\u00aded its pro\u00adduc\u00adtion facil\u00adi\u00adty here from Teich\u00adgrund near Ballenstedt.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">The mod\u00adern plant for crush\u00ading and clas\u00adsi\u00adfy\u00ading was built in 1992 by the cur\u00adrent oper\u00ada\u00adtor of the high-grade chip\u00adpings plant, Mit\u00adteldeutsche Baustoffe GmbH. Most of the pro\u00adduc\u00adtion is sold with\u00adin a&nbsp;radius of up to 40&nbsp;km.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Because 800,000 tons leave the plant every year, the reserves of high-qual\u00adi\u00adty greywacke in the Eulen\u00adbach Val\u00adley deposit will soon be exhaust\u00aded. A&nbsp;final oper\u00adat\u00ading plan reg\u00adu\u00adlates the sub\u00adse\u00adquent renat\u00adu\u00adra\u00adtion. How\u00adev\u00ader, the plant for crush\u00ading and clas\u00adsi\u00adfy\u00ading will con\u00adtin\u00adue to oper\u00adate and be sup\u00adplied with raw mate\u00adr\u00adi\u00adal from anoth\u00ader deposit by means of a&nbsp;con\u00advey\u00ador system.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">The quar\u00adry is already home to many rare ani\u00admal species that are par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar\u00adly wor\u00adthy of pro\u00adtec\u00adtion, includ\u00ading the largest native owl, the eagle owl. As video footage shows, the shy lynx has also been roam\u00ading the site at night for some time&nbsp;now.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">The Harz Region\u00adal Asso\u00adci\u00ada\u00adtion, togeth\u00ader with the oper\u00ada\u00adtor of the quar\u00adry, the Harzk\u00adlub Zweigvere\u00adin Bal\u00adlen\u00adst\u00adedt and the AFG Harz, has erect\u00aded a&nbsp;view\u00ading plat\u00adform with a&nbsp;dis\u00adplay&nbsp;board.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">The short\u00adest access route begins near But\u00adt\u00adlar\u2019s grave at the park\u00ading lot with the field kitchen on the B&nbsp;185 Bal\u00adlen\u00adst\u00adedt \u2014 M\u00e4gde\u00adsprung. From the park\u00ading lot, cross the main road and fol\u00adlow the path towards Huber\u00adtush\u00f6he.
