The water is piped to the Lewer\u00adberg ele\u00advat\u00aded reser\u00advoir near Lieben\u00adburg, where the drink\u00ading water from the Grane\u00adtal dam also arrives. From there, a&nbsp;pipeline con\u00adtin\u00adues to Thieder Lin\u00adden\u00adberg and on to the cities of Braun\u00adschweig and Wolfsburg.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>At the time of the divi\u00adsion of Ger\u00admany, the inner-Ger\u00adman bor\u00adder ran through the mid\u00addle of the reser\u00advoir and dam, two thirds of which was only acces\u00adsi\u00adble to the pub\u00adlic on the west\u00adern side. The east\u00adern part of the dam crest was sep\u00ada\u00adrat\u00aded by a&nbsp;wall and barbed wire. The for\u00admer bor\u00adder col\u00adumn has been pre\u00adserved and sev\u00ader\u00adal infor\u00adma\u00adtion boards have been&nbsp;added.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Eckertalsperre was voted the most beautiful stamp site in 2007 by our hiking friends.<\/h3>\n\n<p>The short\u00adest access route starts at the Tater\u00adn\u00adbruch park\u00ading lot just behind the Radau water\u00adfall at the end of Bad Harzburg in the direc\u00adtion of Torfhaus.
