From the 16th cen\u00adtu\u00adry onwards, it was the site of the Elbingerode gallows.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>A good start\u00ading point is the park\u00ading lot in the cen\u00adter of Elbingerode, from where you can hike along the Stein\u00adweg towards the stamp site. The local Harzk\u00adlub branch has well sign\u00adpost\u00aded the path to Gal\u00adgen\u00adberg.
