The show mine was opened in 1991, where vis\u00adi\u00adtors can descend 283&nbsp;m&nbsp;into the shaft on an orig\u00adi\u00adnal shaft wind\u00ading sys\u00adtem. A&nbsp;mine train then takes them over 1,000&nbsp;m&nbsp;into a&nbsp;19th cen\u00adtu\u00adry min\u00ading field, where the devel\u00adop\u00adment of min\u00ading from its begin\u00adnings to mod\u00adern times is demon\u00adstrat\u00aded and explained using exhibits.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"http:\/\/roehrigschacht.de\">R\u00f6hrig shaft<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The approx. 4&nbsp;km long min\u00ading nature trail is designed as a&nbsp;cir\u00adcu\u00adlar route and pro\u00advides a&nbsp;unique insight into the devel\u00adop\u00adment of cop\u00adper slate min\u00ading in the old min\u00ading dis\u00adtrict of Sanger\u00adhausen. This makes it a&nbsp;valu\u00adable addi\u00adtion to the R\u00f6hrigschacht Min\u00ading Museum.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The vil\u00adlage of Wet\u00adtel\u00adrode was first men\u00adtioned in a&nbsp;doc\u00adu\u00adment in the 9th cen\u00adtu\u00adry. The vil\u00adlage is char\u00adac\u00adter\u00adized by a&nbsp;large num\u00adber of small farm\u00adsteads with hous\u00ades, sta\u00adbles and barns. In addi\u00adtion to their work in the mine, the min\u00aders also ran a&nbsp;small farm to pro\u00advide for themselves.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The sign\u00adpost\u00aded edu\u00adca\u00adtion\u00adal min\u00ading trail begins at the park\u00ading lot in front of the R\u00f6hrigschacht, which also part\u00adly leads over the karst hik\u00ading trail.
