It served as a&nbsp;dor\u00admi\u00adto\u00adry for the cowherds of the sur\u00adround\u00ading pastures.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>In 1883, the farmer Otto Reu\u00df takes over the whey house, which has since been moved to the Has\u00adsel\u00adbach. The pas\u00adture\u00adland is used by a&nbsp;herd of pure-bred brown Harz cows. The devel\u00adop\u00adment of the region with the Braun\u00adschweig \u2014 Bad Harzburg rail\u00adroad line boosts tourism and the Molken\u00adhaus becomes an inn on the way to the Brock\u00aden. Hik\u00aders are treat\u00aded to thick milk, sug\u00adar, cin\u00adna\u00admon and dry&nbsp;bread.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>In 1891, Otto Reu\u00df devel\u00adoped the house into the most famous hotel guest\u00adhouse in the Harz Moun\u00adtains, pro\u00admot\u00aded win\u00adter sports and start\u00aded feed\u00ading game. In 1973, after so many years of use, the facil\u00adi\u00adties of the house no longer met the demands of the guests. The for\u00admer land\u00adlord fam\u00adi\u00adly left the Molken\u00adhaus and the prop\u00ader\u00adty was burned down on Decem\u00adber 15, 1973 by order of the forestry administration.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>In 1976, today\u2019s Molken\u00adhaus hik\u00ading sta\u00adtion was built north of the Has\u00adsel pond and, fol\u00adlow\u00ading a&nbsp;change of own\u00ader\u00adship and exten\u00adsive ren\u00ado\u00adva\u00adtions in 2007, is now a&nbsp;pop\u00adu\u00adlar hik\u00ading and excur\u00adsion destination.<\/p>\n\n<p>Park\u00ading is avail\u00adable at the large park\u00ading lot in Bad Harzburg direct\u00adly on the Bun\u00addesstra\u00dfe 4&nbsp;towards Torfhaus. From there, you have to decide whether you want to con\u00adquer the Burg\u00adberg on foot or take the cable car up the 150&nbsp;meters to the top.
