Dur\u00ading the peas\u00adant upris\u00adings and the Thir\u00adty Years\u2019 War, the cas\u00adtle was bad\u00adly dam\u00adaged and even\u00adtu\u00adal\u00adly abandoned.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>After 1990, the ruins were uncov\u00adered, ren\u00ado\u00advat\u00aded and pro\u00advid\u00aded with a&nbsp;pavil\u00adion as a&nbsp;view\u00ading point. A&nbsp;dis\u00adplay board, next to which there is also a&nbsp;stamp box, pro\u00advides inter\u00adest\u00ading infor\u00adma\u00adtion about the his\u00adto\u00adry of the Altenburg.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>A good start\u00ading point is the park\u00ading lot in the cen\u00adter of Heim\u00adburg, from where the sign\u00adpost\u00aded hik\u00ading trail leads up to Altenburg Cas\u00adtle.
