This area was named after the Heer\u00adstra\u00dfe, an impor\u00adtant road that ran through the for\u00adest in ear\u00adli\u00ader&nbsp;times.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>The sand caves, or \u201cDie Sand\u00adhutsche\u201d as the Blanken\u00adburg locals call them, are an impres\u00adsive dis\u00adcov\u00adery in the mid\u00addle of the pine for\u00adest for any first-time vis\u00adi\u00adtor. The many small rocks and sandy sec\u00adtions of path are already notice\u00adable on the way there, but the \u201cSand\u00adhutsche\u201d with its rocks up to three meters high and the caves carved into the stone by humans exceeds all expectations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>This fas\u00adci\u00adnat\u00ading land\u00adscape was already cho\u00adsen as a&nbsp;meet\u00ading place by the ancient Ger\u00adman\u00adic tribes and has lost none of its mag\u00adi\u00adcal attrac\u00adtion to this&nbsp;day.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>The sand caves were vot\u00aded the most beau\u00adti\u00adful stamp site by our stamp hik\u00aders in&nbsp;2009.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The start\u00ading point for a&nbsp;vis\u00adit is the sign\u00adpost\u00aded park\u00ading lot below the cas\u00adtle, which is eas\u00adi\u00adly acces\u00adsi\u00adble from the A36. It is a&nbsp;good idea to first walk along the nar\u00adrow, sign\u00adpost\u00aded path to the left of the park\u00ading lot to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.harzer-wandernadel.de\/en\/stamping-points\/overview-map\/stamp-point-82-regenstein-mill\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"943\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Regen\u00adstein\u00adm\u00fch\u00adle HWN 82<\/a>. After\u00adwards, you will reach the sand caves in the Heers on the right-hand side via Heer\u00adstra\u00dfe below the Regen\u00adstein\u00adm\u00fch\u00adle.
