Otto von Guer\u00adicke recon\u00adstruct\u00aded a&nbsp;uni\u00adcorn from these bones in the 17th cen\u00adtu\u00adry. The bones of the uni\u00adcorn were said to have heal\u00ading pow\u00aders and were there\u00adfore sold as medicine.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>As ear\u00adly as the 18th cen\u00adtu\u00adry, it was rec\u00adog\u00adnized that these were fos\u00adsil remains of large mam\u00admals, espe\u00adcial\u00adly the cave bear, but not the leg\u00adendary uni\u00adcorn.
