You also have a&nbsp;beau\u00adti\u00adful view of Osterode and the south\u00adern Harz foreland.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>In ear\u00adli\u00ader times, char\u00adcoal burn\u00aders lived in such huts when they worked in the Harz forests in sum\u00admer. The char\u00adcoal burn\u00aders could not leave their place of work as the char\u00adcoal piles required super\u00advi\u00adsion day and night. In this tra\u00addi\u00adtion\u00adal style, the shel\u00adter at the Schin\u00addelkopf was built in 2002, where the stamp box is also located.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>The S\u00f6se\u00adtalsperre was the first dam built by the Harzwasser\u00adw\u00aderke on the Riv\u00ader S\u00f6se between 1928 and 1931 and is used to sup\u00adply drink\u00ading water, pro\u00adtect against flood\u00ading, raise low water lev\u00adels and gen\u00ader\u00adate electricity.<\/p>\n\n<p>The short\u00adest sign\u00adpost\u00aded hik\u00ading trail to the Schin\u00addelkopf starts from the Wald\u00advo\u00adgel\u00adsta\u00adtion at the S\u00f6se\u00adtalsperre reser\u00advoir, above the hik\u00ading park\u00ading&nbsp;lot.<\/p>\n\n<p>From the hik\u00ading park\u00ading lot \u201cFuchshaller Weg\u201d on the out\u00adskirts of Osterode, you can hike along the \u201cNassen Weg\u201d to the K\u00f6te am Schin\u00addelkopf and con\u00adtin\u00adue the tour to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.harzer-wandernadel.de\/en\/stamping-points\/overview-map\/stamping-point-144-hanskuehnenburg\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"1168\">Han\u00adsk\u00fch\u00adnen\u00adburg HWN 144<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Schin\u00addelkopf (550&nbsp;m&nbsp;above sea lev\u00adel) is locat\u00aded to the south\u00adwest of the Ack\u00ader moun\u00adtain range and the town of Osterode am Harz to the&nbsp;west.
