The path served as an army road to Harzburg Cas\u00adtle, as a&nbsp;sup\u00adply route into the Harz Moun\u00adtains and also as an ore trans\u00adporta\u00adtion&nbsp;route.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>The grain for the min\u00aders in the Harz was stored in the elec\u00adtoral Hanover\u00adian Harz\u00ader-Korn-Mag\u00ada\u00adzin in Osterode. From here, don\u00adkey car\u00ada\u00advans made their dai\u00adly jour\u00adney along the Hund\u00adsch\u00ader Weg to Clausthal to sup\u00adply the min\u00aders with&nbsp;food.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>From Osterode, you begin the hike from the offi\u00adcial start\u00ading point of the Harz Witch\u00ades\u2019 Trail at the \u201cBle\u00adich\u00adestelle\u201d.
